The pupil premium is an allocation of additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers. These groups include:

Pupils entitled to free school meals

Pupils who have ever been entitled to free school meals

Pupils who are looked after by the local authority or who have been adopted, have a special guardianship order, have a child arrangements order or have a residence order

Pupils of armed forces personnel
