Spiritual Development
At our school, spiritual development is about helping children to grow as thoughtful, reflective, and curious individuals. Being spiritual, means providing the community with space to wonder about the world, explore life’s mysteries, and find meaning and stillness in their own experiences, and, in the natural world around them.
Spiritual development is nurtured by providing time and space to
- Ask big questions about life, faith, meaning, and purpose;
- Experience moments of awe, wonder, and mystery in the world around them;
- Enjoy times of stillness, reflection, and prayer;
- Explore and express their own beliefs and values, while respecting those of others;
- Connect with nature and the outdoors, seeing themselves as part of God’s creation;
- Grow in curiosity and creativity, finding joy in learning and discovery.
Through these opportunities, we nurture the whole child so that they flourish as individuals who are confident in themselves, respectful of others, and inspired to make a positive difference in the world.
Helping children to understand what spiritual development is...
Spiritual development is about wondering, asking big questions, and enjoying moments of stillness. It helps us notice the beauty and mystery in the world, care for nature, and think about what is important to ourselves and others
